Radar Technique
RADAR TECHNIQUE was conceived and developed by Rebecca Davies, an Australian dance teacher who was passionate about the Australian dance community and wanted to share her knowledge and expertise to help revolutionise the way dancers trained.
Rebecca developed a number of drills, exercises and techniques and created a series of 90 minute workshops. These workshops exploded into weekly travels nationally then internationally as more and more dancers and teachers wanted to know the “secrets” to RADAR TECHNIQUE.
RADAR TECHNIQUE workshops focus on pirouettes, kick turns, dance conditioning, jumps/leaps and dance tricks. Rebecca then expanded even more to develop a unique program, which help to enhance dancers AFTER the workshop, as the dancer is taught HOW to analyse dance technique and apply this to their own future learning.
Frustrated with Australian dancers perceiving themselves as so far behind the American technical standard, Rebecca is passionate in her mission to help as many teachers and their dancers as possible learn Radar Technique.
Rebecca has been travelling and holding workshops at studios with her dance assistants since 2010 in conjunction with the release of several instructional DVDs focusing on tips and tricks for better pirouettes and conditioning programs to obtain stronger and more functional dancers physiques.
Rebecca explains: “I am passionate about helping young dancers to look after their physiques and find their strengths and limitations at an early age so as to improve and enhance them.
“Class and training should always be fun, setting up a lifelong enjoyment for fitness.
“By mixing my high intensity strength and flexibility exercises with humour and fun, students leave my class feeling inspired, confident and armed with the tools to learn about their dancer’s body.”
